EXPERIENCE |
Process development, both new and evolutionary;
Design of chemical plants ranging from batch processes for sophisticated
organic products at a rate of a few hundred tonnes per year to large-scale
continuous production processes for organic and inorganic products;
Trouble-shooting and process improvements, including the practical application
of theoretical models to improve productivity and the identification of
bottlenecks;
Identification and practical solution of process faults in design, operation or
control;
Preparation of project plans for research & development projects. |
CAREER
|
Started industrial career with Distillers Chemicals & Plastics at their
Epsom Research & Development Centre before joining ICI Mond Division where
my responsibilities included the management of process design function, the
transfer of process technology to both developed and less developed countries,
the integration of chemists and chemical engineers to create effective project
teams and the management of Explosion Hazard and High Pressure specialists.
Independent process engineering consultant since 1984.
Current Professional activities include:
Committee Member of IChemE Computer-Aided Process Engineering Group,
Hon Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the University of Leeds,
Committee Member of the Liverpool Section of the Society of Chemical Industry. |
