12 years in Technical sales with Huls>Degussa-Huls> Degussa from Technical Sales Representative to Product Manager to UK and Ireland Regional Sales Manager, doubling silane sales despite product shortages to £3.6 million . This resulted in Degussa UK Silane Market leadership which was brought about by identifying target accounts, focussing resources with key account technical and commercial management, and crucially customer relationship building.
Also instrumental in building the biggest reactive hotmelt account £1million and a half million pound nylon coating customer.
Earlier business development roles included:
Dynamit Nobel UK doubling Polyester and Phenolic Resin business to £1.4million,
Allchem chemical distributor creating £700,000 nylon polymer and DMT business.
Industrial Adhesives Divisional manager reorientating £2 million business.
Founding plastic coatings business conducting highly effective marketing campaigns leading to business with major manufacturers of cable ties and supermarket shelving.
Started career as chemist at Berger Paints (which became a part of Hoechst) in acrylic pressure adhesives development leading to a patent revision on PPG technology boosting Berger’s major Storey Brothers account.
This led to a role as Technical Section Manager for Can and Drum coatings where we built a reputation as the strongest new product development section in the company leading to a million pound brand new business on 2 piece cans with Metal Box.
