CONSULTANCY OFFERED
Business, Technology & Operating Reviews:
alignment of new capital proposals with business strategy at the early stages of project thinking.

Concept Reviews: examination of a proposal against the functions that must be performed to achieve the business objectives. Particularly useful for generating options and developing project scope.

Project Cost Reviews:analysis and optimisation of capital (or operating) costs.

Reviews are based on the systematic examination of commercial, engineering and operating issues and involves working with and leading teams representing all interests. Techniques include: function analysis, option analysis, risk assessment, target setting.

Value Management & Value Engineering Training:
advice and development of in-house training programmes to meet the requirements of the client. Senior and middle management awareness presentations and programmes. Certificated by the Institute of Value Management to conduct accredited VM Training Courses which meet the EC Value Management Training requirements.

EXPERIENCE
Over twenty five years experience in the chemical industry in both maintenance and project design positions. For seven years was the Value Analysis Manager for ICI Engineering.

As an Independent Consultant has worked in the UK, Europe and North America. Experience extends to studying over 300 projects in a variety of businesses. Work has involved looking at projects from £50k to £500m and covered process plant from small-scale multi-product batch plants to large scale continuous processes.

Currently a Royal Academy Visiting Professor in the Principles of Engineering Design at the University of Leeds with particular interest in Value Engineering and multi- function design.

A member of the Institute of Value Management (IVM) Executive and the IVM Training & Certification Committee. The IVM led the initiative to establish the European VM/VE Training and Certification programme and now manages the UK scheme.
