| * Designing, implementing, advising and assisting companies to achieving
certification to BS ISO EN 9000 (includding
the '2000' revisions). Developing and writing manuals, procedures, and
instructions for users & clients. * Advising, writing and installing systems for Health & Safety and for Environmental management EMAS ISO14001and Responsible Care and Loss Prevention (RLCP) programmes. * Advice on current legislative and industry requirements, for example, CPL / CHIP (including transport requirements for ADR, IATA, IMDG, etc.), COSHH, COMAH, IPC, etc. * Very important parts of the service are:- i) the provision of practical assistance in the implementation of the systems as they are developed, ensuring that the people involved develop satisfactory awareness. and ii) the provision of training for the operation of the system, for example, through the training of internal auditors. * Advice and assistance to organisations to assess, install and implement documented systems to BS EN ISO 9000, for Health & Safety and for Environmental management. * Internal auditing and audit management of such systems. * Provision of formulation and customer / technical service support in resin technology. |

EXPERIENCE |

| Since 1990 I have worked as an advisor and consultant in Quality, Health & Safety Environment and Resin
Technology. It is supported by 40 years experience in industry,
initially based on resin technology and associated industries having been
employed in the operating companies of such groups as Unilever, Shell and
Tarmac. This experience spans resin formulation and their use in a wide range
of applications from surface coatings to civil engineering uses, flooring
compounds and fibre reinforced plastics. Implementation and maintenance of ISO 9000, Health & Safety and RCLP management systems. Polymer knowledgePolymer knowledge includes alkyds, amino resins, aqueous dispersions and emulsions, bitumen, epoxies, phenolics, polyamines, polyamides, saturated and unsaturated polyesters, thermoplastic crosslinkable rubbers, urethanes etc. Application and formulation experience encompasses paints and surface coatings, flooring, roofing, adhesives, castings, encapsulation, printed circuit boards, electrical laminates, phenolic foams and laminates, WEP/WFP,ISP, rock consolidation, resin concretes, fibre reinforced plastics, SMC, DMC, brush setting compounds, civil engineering and building compounds, fire retardancy, the replacement of asbestos in a variety of formulations and in anti-surveillance coatings. I have served on BPF and BSI committees. I have served as Senior Steward of Prenton Methodist Church, Birkenhead, I am a past Chairman of the 4th Birkenhead Scout Group Executive Committee and am a member of the National Trust. |

| In addition to quality assurance, I have extensive experience in both
technical and managerial roles in polymer design, research and development,
manufacture, from market development and marketing to production management and
process improvement programmes. Contributor to the book "Polymer Engineering Composites"(Applied Science), Recently an article has been published in the Paint, Oil and Colour Journal concerning the need for companies to publish their own safety policy. |
